A brief history of the trucker hat... Style coming soon to Phenix Rose!

The Trucker Hat: From Feed Stores to Phenix Rose

Once upon a time in the 1970s, feed stores and farm supply shops gave away foam-front mesh caps as promotional freebies. They weren’t glamorous, but they were practical—blocking the sun, letting the breeze in, and boldly advertising pig feed or tractor parts. Farmers and truckers wore them because they were free, not because they were fashion icons.

Fast forward a few decades, and suddenly Hollywood decided the trucker hat was cool. Stars strolled red carpets in mesh caps that once screamed “hay delivery at 6 a.m.” The hat that started as farm swag became a pop culture phenomenon.

And now? Well, the trucker hat is pulling into a new stop: Phenix Rose Designs! That’s right—our very own line of trucker hats is on the horizon. Think less “free feed cap” and more “one-of-a-kind style, hand-burned details, and that signature Phenix Rose twist.”  Hats will be created in the signature Vegan Suede material, AND a brand new Cork material!

So keep your eyes peeled—our trucker hats are almost ready to roll out. Whether you’re hauling freight, hitting the farmers market, or just hauling yourself out of bed for coffee, these hats will do the job in style.

Speaking of hats—this month’s giveaway is a mystery bundle of hat scarves! These little beauties are the perfect addition to any outfit, whether you’re tying one around a hat for that effortless boho touch, wrapping it in your hair, or dressing up your everyday look. Stylish, versatile, and a little bit of surprise fun—just the way we like it!

With Love,
